Mayor's Welcome Reception

WPMC'09 Welcome Reception will be held in the Banquet Hall "Akebono", on the 3rd floor of the Hotel Metropolitan Sendai. All those registered for the symposium are invited to join this pre-Symposium get-together. Enjoy a variety of Western- and Japanese-style dishes while getting a chance to meet up and mingle with other participants.
Award Banquet
Wednesday, September 9, 18:30-
The Award Banquet will be held in the Banquet Hall "Sendai", on the 4th floor of Hotel Metropolitan Sendai.
All symposium participants are invited. Winners of the Special Awards, given to the best papers contributed to the symposium, will be announced. Make sure you are there to find out whether it is your own paper which has been chosen!
The evening will be highlighted by an exciting performance of traditional Japanese music, in which a local Wadaiko quartet “Yakara” will collaborate with Ms. Hibiki Orie, a Tsugaru-jamisen player who has won numerous prizes in National Competitions. (Wadaiko is a large traditional Japanese drum often used in Japanese festivals, and Tsugaru-jamisen is a famous stringed instrument particular to Northern Japan)
